Greetings from Three Rivers Stocking!
We want to share with you our plans for our expected October 2022 stocking. As you know, our annual auction and dinner was our primary fund-raiser for purchasing fish. Unfortunately increasing costs at event venues have made such an event cost prohibitive. We have instead applied for grants and will once again be counting on your continued support. To date in 2022 we have applied for and received generous donations from the Fuller Foundation and Bass Pro Shops. Over the last few years Three Rivers Stocking has spent about $30,000 annually to stock the Cocheco, Isinglass, Lamprey, and Exeter rivers with large rainbow, brown, and brook trout. This year due to rapidly increasing costs we are preparing to spend $35,000 to try to maintain the stocking levels that you have come to expect.
Again this year we are hoping that our online fund-raising initiative will be successful.
So, what’s in it for you? If you’re interested in quality fall and winter fishing, continuing this great program, keeping a pristine environment, and supporting Project Healing Waters for disabled vets – we need you to donate and buy some fish!
Some examples:
-A single 13” Brookie costs $10.00!
-A single 14” Brown costs $15.00!
-A single 14" Rainbow costs $9.00!
-A single 22” whopper of a Rainbow costs up to $25.00!
So, how many trout can you buy? We’ve all had the joy of catching and releasing many of the fish we stock.
